Iris Favand is a French, New York based designer. Before pursuing a Fashion Design degree at Parsons, she studied Humanities in Paris, with a specialisation in History of Arts.

Fond of Literature, History and Politics, Iris believes that artists have the responsibility to use their medium to engage with contemporary social issues. Hence, she aims at tying her art practices to her political convictions.

Her interest for dance and theatre led her to work on several performing art projects. Her most recent one, Dance as Resistance, questions the rise of nationalism and the trend towards identity closure through a dance performance and a workshop blending movement and conversations.

Fond of photography and printing techniques, Iris often uses silk-screen printing, etching, or laser machines in order to create patterns for her fashion and art projects.
